Below are some articles written by Kaisertown residents about Kaisertown.

Kaisertown, U.S.A.

History
The land on which Kaisertown is located constituted one of the final vestiges of Native American occupation and ownership in the Buffalo area.

Once part of the Buffalo Creek Reservation, the Seneca Indians originally lived in a village at a bend in Buffalo Creek, in the vicinity of South Ogden Street. On January 15, 1838, the Senecas deeded the land to Thomas L. Ogden, who later transferred ownership of it to the Clinton and Ogden Land Company. It was subsequently divided and sold to farmers and developers of the neighborhood.

Microcosm of Urban America

Those of us who reside in the East Clinton Street Neighborhood are of various and equally assured opinions on the origin of the name "Kaisertown."

Some refer to the original German immigrant settlers who took particular pride in the fact that they lived in "Kaisers Town" in the New World. Others strongly believe that the name reflects the parish of St. Casimir Church, which for a considerable time was the prominent Catholic parish in the community.

Pride and Gratitude in the Greater Kaisertown Village

Kaisertown is a community best described as an insulated neighborhood separated by natural and man-made buffers from other contiguous residential areas.

To the south, the placid stream of Buffalo Creek. West, the Niagara Thruway and the light industrial areas of Bailey Avenue. The north contains more light industry on Dingens Street. The eastern boundary, incorporating small residential slices of Cheektowaga and West Seneca would qualify it as the Greater Kaisertown Village.
